The composition and properties of BP series 22SiMn2TiB armor steel

22SiMn2TiB (code 616) is a BP series high-performance armor protective steel, with a thickness range of 2-12mm. BP series protective steel adopts oxygen converter to smelt killed steel. After secondary refining, continuous casting is carried out. Continuous casting billet is sent to hot rolling line for reheating and rolled into coil by controlled rolling and cooling process. After strong straightening and plate cutting, heat treatment is carried out. After passing the performance and quality inspection,22SiMn2TiB armor steel is allowed to be delivered to clients.

The chemical composition of 22SiMn2TiB armor steel is as follows
C: 0.19-0.25, Si: 0.70-1.00, Mn: 1.50-1.85, P: ≤ 0.025, S: ≤ 0.020, B: 0.0005-0.0035, Ti: 0.01-0.06.

Heat treatment of 22SiMn2TiB (616) protective steel:
Quenching: 910 - 930℃, 2 - 3min / mm; water cooling.
Tempering: 190 - 210℃, 3 - 5min / mm; air cooling.

22SiMn2TiB (616) steel plate is heat treated with hot rolled coil as base plate. 22SiMn2TiB armor steel has excellent gun resistance, strong destructive impact resistance, uniform and stable performance, and good shape and surface quality. 22SiMn2TiB armored steel and other BP series protective steel are suitable for cash carriers, armored personnel carriers, escort vehicles, VIP vehicles, anti-theft doors, bank counter protective plates, safes, shields, helmets, etc.
