The length of ASTM A519 4140 steel pipes

Fixed length within certain range is an effective measure to save materials of ASTM A519 4140 steel pipes. That is to require the 4140 pipe  delivery within a size range of not less than a certain length. The steel mill can produce and supply ASTM A519 4140 steel pipes according to this size requirement.

Sometimes, ASTM A519 4140 steel pipes are also delivered with random length, that the length of 4140 pipe is within the standard limits and does not require a fixed length.

The fixed length of ASTM A519 4140 steel pipes is to supply 4140 pipe according to the specified length, and 4140 steel pipes must have the length specified by the buyer in the order contract. For example, the contract specifies that 4140 steel pipes delivered at a fixed length of 6m, then it must be 6m long, less than 6m or longer than 6m are unqualified. But in fact, delivery can not always be 6m long, so it is stipulated that positive deviations are allowed and negative deviations are not allowed.

Double ruler length of ASTM A519 4140 steel pipes means the length of the 4140 pipes must be the integral multiple of the length specified in the order contract (plus the sawing). For example, the buyer requires a single foot length of 2m in the order contract, then the length of the double ruler is 4m, and at 3 times the length of the cut is 6m, plus one or two saws respectively. The size of the sawing is stipulated in the standard. Only a positive deviation is allowed during the delivery of double feet, and negative bias is not allowed.
