The prime hot rolled alloy steel plate 42CrMo4 is chromium-molybdenum steel that usually used after quenched and tempered, with high intensity, high hardenability. Prime hot rolled alloy steel plate 42CrMo4 has better performance than 34CrMo4 steel due to higher carbon and chromium content.
Heat treatment of prime hot rolled alloy steel plate 42CrMo4:
1) Quenching of prime hot rolled alloy steel plate 42CrMo4:
First quenching: heat slowly to 880°C, then after adequate soaking at this temperature, quench in oil or water. Temper as soon as tools reach room temperature. Second quenching: heat to 780-820°C, then quench in oil or water.
2) Tempering of prime hot rolled alloy steel plate 42CrMo4:
Heat to 205-649°C, then cool in water or oil. Normal delivery hardness is 18-22 HRC.
3) Annealing of prime hot rolled alloy steel plate 42CrMo4:
Slowly heat to 872 ℃ and allow enough times, let the steel to be thoroughly heated, Then cool slowly in the furnace. The 42CrMo4 steel will get MAX 250 HB (Brinell hardness).
The prime hot rolled alloy steel plate 42CrMo4 has high strength and hardenability. Steel plate 42CrMo4 also has high fatigue strength and good low-temperature impact toughness.
