Do you know difference between A36 and S275JR carbon steel plate? A36 carbon steel plate is under American Standard ASTM A36 and S275JR carbon steel plate is under European Standard EN10025-2.

There is difference between A36 and S275JR carbon steel plate strength. A36 carbon steel plate has a min. yield strength of 250 MPA. While the yield strength of S275JR carbon steel plate may below 250 MPA. For example, for S275JR carbon steel plate with thickness 200-250mm, the min. yield strength is 205 Mpa.

There is also difference between A36 and S275JR carbon steel plate in carbon content. For 20-40mm thickness range, the max. carbon content of A36 carbon steel plate is 0.25%, while the max. carbon content of S275JR carbon steel plate is 0.21%.

A36 steel equivalent grades are: Q235B, S235JR, ST37-2, SS400, SM400A, FE360B, E24-2, etc.
S275JR equivalent grade is Q275.
