Ammonia is an important raw material for chemical fertilizer processing and production. The ammonia storage tank not only needs to have good low temperature impact toughness, but also has high requirements for internal structure and inclusion level. According to the harsh requirements of customers' ammonia storage tank on raw materials, such as low temperature impact toughness, surface brinell hardness, banded structure, inclusions, etc., after full demonstration and repeated research, the process production scheme has been optimized and formulated.
On the basis of the original 16MnDR-T pressure vessel steel composition, the technicians carried out the narrow composition design of the alloy, optimized the steel-making process, carried out the clean steel smelting, ensured the uniform and clean structure; the rolling process adopted the "low temperature heating and large reduction rolling" process, narrowed the normalizing temperature of heat treatment, ensured the fine structure and smooth surface. Finally, the surface Brinell hardness of the off-line products is less than 180HBW, the low temperature toughness of - 40℃ is 1.5 times higher than that of the conventional products, and the ferrite banded structure, inclusion content and other indicators meet the high standard requirements of customers.
