Mexico's preliminary anti-dumping sanctions on Italian and Japanese steel sheets

On December 19, 2018, the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Mexico issued an announcement in the Official Gazette, making a preliminary anti-dumping sanction on the steel sheets originating in Italy and Japan (placade aceroenhoja), deciding to continue the anti-dumping investigation on the products involved and not impose temporary anti-dumping duties. The TIGIE tax numbers of the products involved are 7208.51.01, 7208.51.02, 7208.51.03, 7208.52.01 and 7225.40.99. The resolution shall come into force the day after its promulgation.

On November 14, 2017, the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Mexico issued a notice in the official communique that, in response to the application of Altos Hornosde Mxico, S.A.B.deC.V., a national company, it decided to conduct an anti-dumping investigation on steel sheets originating in Italy and Japan. The dumping investigation period of this case is from May 1, 2016 to April 30, 2017, and the damage investigation period is from May 1, 2014 to April 30, 2017.
