In just 7 minutes, molten steel is transformed into steel coil on BBN steel ESP production line, while the traditional steel production line takes more than 3 hours; the thin specification of ESP hot rolled steel strip is 0.6 mm, and the thinnest product of traditional rolling line is 1.2 mm.
ESP, refers to the production technology of all-headless ultra-thin strip steel, which is the most advanced rolling technology in the world at present. It is also known as the "third technological revolution of iron and steel industry" after converter steelmaking and continuous casting.
"Unlike the traditional rolling separation process, the innovation of ESP lies in that the production line can be continuously produced as long as molten steel is continuously supplied after the parameters of the production line are preset."
With backward production capacity withdrawing, environmental protection increasing pressure and steel enterprises merging and restructuring accelerating, when many steel enterprises are struggling in the predicament, BBN steel relies on ESP as a technological innovation, allocating the mist of development, to "catch the lead" on the world stage.
ESP technology was introduced from Avidi, Italy. Now, after three years of digestion and innovation, BBN steel not only fully grasps the essence of technology, but also has many technical indicators, such as the proportion of thin specifications, the number of continuous casting furnaces, the thinnest specifications and so on.
1.2 mm thk 1500 mm width specification 700 MPa high-strength steel of ESP production line is the first in the world among hot-rolled with the same specifications; 1.5 mm thk 1250 mm width specification high-carbon steel is the first in China.
In October this year, a 0.6mm hot rolled steel strip was successfully rolled off the ESP production line in BBN steel, which set a new record for the thinnest hot rolled steel strip in the world. "The BBN steel ESP production line can produce steel coil with a thickness of less than 1.2mm in batches, and now the thinnest steel coil can be produced to 0.6mm."
Millimeter evolution, however, has profound significance. The thickness of hot rolled steel products will encounter many problems such as increasing load, severe vibration of rolling mill and difficulty in shape control during the process of downward exploration, which means that the thinner the thickness is, the more difficult the rolling is.
At present, the thinnest product of traditional rolling line is 1.2 mm, and the thinnest specification of CSP line is about 1.0 mm. The successful rolling of 0.6mm products in BBN steel ESP production line not only expands the group's lower thickness limit for Cold-Formed products, but also is a milestone event of hot-rolled steel strip technology in the world.
