Recently, BBN Steel successfully supplied 5 pieces of 12Cr1MoVR steel plates with a thickness of 180 mm and a total weight of 176.5 tons. The unit weight of this batch of chromium molybdenum vanadium steel plates reached 43.7 tons, and their thickness and weight exceeded the production limit of vanadium-added steel. Its successful production indicates that the CR-Mo steel of BBN steel continues to occupy a leading position in China.
The 12Cr1MoVR steel plates have high technical requirements and strict performance requirements, and their thickness and weight exceed the current limit of BBN steel to produce vanadium-added steel plate, which is extremely difficult to produce. Customers need to meet the highest level of NB/T47013 flaw detection. Tail area defects easily occur in the production process, resulting in unqualified 12Cr1MoVR steel plate flaw detection.
In order to ensure the smooth production of 12Cr1MoVR steel plates and timely delivery to users, BBN Steel used both ingots and forged ingots to produce the vanadium steel plate for the first time. BBN Steel Technology Department has cooperated with relevant production units in depth, demonstrated many times and docked seamlessly for each key point of production, and worked out detailed and reliable process plan. Technicians implement 24-hour continuous tracking of production to solve each production problem one by one. We finally produced the 12Cr1MoVR steel plates successfully. The vanadium-added steel surface, internal quality and performance all meet user requirements. Meanwhile, we also accumulated valuable experience in the production of such steel plates.
