What is the difference between 35# steel and 35CrMo steel

First, the properties of 35# steel and 35CrMo steel are different:

1. 35# steel: 35# steel is a high-quality carbon structural steel with good plasticity and appropriate strength, good process performance and welding performance. 35# steel can be used in normalizing and tempering state.

2. 35CrMo steel: the weldability of 35CrMo steel is poor, and its hardness tendency is large during welding, and the hot crack and cold crack tendency in the heat affected zone are large. Under the condition of tempering, the tendency of cold cracking in the heat affected zone will be particularly prominent.

Second, 35# steel is different from 35CrMo steel in use:
1. 35# steel: widely used in the manufacture of all kinds of forgings and hot pressed parts, cold drawn and upset steel, seamless steel pipes, parts in mechanical manufacturing, such as crankshaft, shaft, shaft pin, lever, connecting rod, crossbeam, sleeve, rim, washer, screw, nut, motorcycle frame, etc.

2. 35CrMo steel: mainly used for structural pipe, fluid pipe, low and medium pressure boiler pipe, high pressure boiler pipe, fertilizer special pipe, oil cracking pipe, hydraulic prop pipe, geological drilling pipe, automobile half shaft casing, etc.. 35CrMo steel is also used as important structural parts for working under high load, such as transmission parts of vehicles and engines; rotor, main shaft, heavy load transmission shaft, etc.
