What is API 5L X42 material grade PSL2? API 5L X42 material grade is pipeline steel for petroleum and natural gas industries use. It covers two specification levels: API 5L X42 material grade PSL1 and API 5L X42 material grade PSL2. API 5L X42 PSL2 can be divided into API 5L X42R PSL2, API 5L X42N PSL2, API 5L X42Q PSL2, API 5L X42M PSL2 according to different delivery conditions.

For API 5L X42 material grade PSL2, API 5L X42R PSL2 steel is supplied in as rolled condition, API 5L X42N PSL2 steel is supplied in normalizing rolled, normalizing formed, normalized, or normalized and tempered condition, API 5L X42Q PSL2 steel is supplied in quenched and tempered condition, API 5L X42M PSL2 steel is supplied in thermomechanical rolled or thermomechanical formed condition.
