The points need attention to make weather resistance treatment for corten B steel sheets

The weather resistance treatment is widely adopted for corten B steel sheets. Before the treatment, we need to take the following three points into consideration.

First , the following conditions are not suitable for weathering treatment: 1. when placed in soil or water; 2. in a region containing ammonia and other alkaline gases; 3. at a vulnerable location. Because these conditions affect the formation of stable oxide film on surface of corten B steel sheets.

Second, when corten B steel sheets need to be welded, the welding material must also have weatherproof and corrosion resistance, so it is usually first welded and then weathering treatment. If preplene is sprayed before welding, there are bubbles.

Third, when using high tensile screws, nuts and backing plates, they must also be weatherproof and corrosion resistant.

Corten B steel sheets is most suitable for bridge structures, and the bridge almost no longer needs any maintenance cost after weather resistance treatment is processed. Therefore, based on the long-term economic point of view, the weather resistance treatment for corten B steel sheets is worth considering and promoting.
