ABS FH36 steel plates is high strength shipbuilding steel. And it is very strict in technical. Generally, technical requirements for ABS FH36 shipbuilding steel are mainly reflected in 4 aspects:

1. The requirements for ABS FH36 steel plates strength. Higher strength can reduce the weight of the hull, reduce the workload of the welding, and increase the bearing capacity. The adoption of FH36 high strength shipbuilding steel is also restricted by the rigidity and corrosion resistance of the hull.

2. Hull alignment is rather complicated. There are many kinds of mono curved or hyperbolic surfaces. Cold, hot bending and straightening operations are needed. Therefore, it requires ABS FH36 steel plates have good adaptability to shipbuilding technology, including welding and repair.

3. The requirements for ABS FH36 steel plates strength plasticity and toughness, which are sufficient to compensate for the impact of the processing hardening and thermal cycle of various operations on the material in the course of construction. For the most important parts of the bow and hull, such as the maximum longitudinal bending stress, the bottom part and the side crack plate, high crack resistance is required. It requires a low brittle transition temperature and enough impact absorption at low temperature.

4. ABS FH36 steel plates should have good resistance to seawater corrosion.
