Scope of application of EN 10025 S420NL steel plate

S420NL steel is a fine grain structural steel. It is a high-strength steel plate under the European standard EN 10025. S420NL steel plate has higher comprehensive mechanical properties in the normalized or normalized plus tempered state.

Analysis of differences between S420N and S420NL steel plates:
S420 steel plate shall be classified as alloy special steel. Therefore, the steel grade of this brand shall be supplied at the following levels specified during inquiry and ordering: when the temperature is not lower than -20 ℃, the minimum value of impact energy shall be specified, expressed in N, that is, S420N. When the temperature is not lower than -50 ℃, the minimum value of the specified impact energy, expressed in NL, is S420NL.

The S420NL steel plate is mainly used for large ships, bridges, power plant equipment, medium and high pressure boilers, high pressure vessels, l℃omotives and vehicles, lifting machinery, mining machinery and other large welding structures.
