EN 10025 S460N steel inventory transfer to downstream

In March, due to the market expectation that the peak season of the steel market is coming, the demand for steel in the downstream industry is ready to develop. Steel traders have increased their purchasing efforts, and the inventory of steel plants has decreased accordingly, gradually transferring to the social inventory. The inventory index of EN 10025 S460N and other finished products was 38.1%, down 10.6 percentage points on a month on month basis.

The social inventory increased significantly, and the inventory of five major varieties showed an upward trend. In the middle of February, the social inventory of 5 major varieties of steel products in 20 cities was 14.79 million tons, an increase of 3.45 million tons over the first ten days and 7.49 million tons over the beginning of the year. In terms of varieties, the inventory of rebar was 7.81 million tons, with a month on month increase of 2.22 million tons; the inventory of wire rod was 2.8 million tons, with a month on month increase of 760000 tons; the inventory of hot rolled steel coil was 1.67 million tons, with a month on month increase of 120000 tons; the inventory of cold rolled steel coil was 1.23 million tons, with a month on month increase of 180000 tons; the inventory of EN 10025 S460N and other medium and heavy plates was 1.28 million tons, with a month on month increase of 170000 tons.
