AR500 bulletproof steel plate imports continue to grow in July 2020

According to the Customs Import and Export Express, in July 2020, China imported 2.066 million tons of AR500 bulletproof steel plate and so on steel products, an increase of 728000 tons compared with the previous month, with a month on month increase of 38.8%. The average price of AR500 bulletproof steel plate and so on imported steel in June was 663.9 US dollars / ton. And the steel imports in January - July was 9.948 million tons, an increase of 49.3% year-on-year.

In July 2020, China exported 4.176 million tons of steel, an increase of 475000 tons compared with the previous month, a 12.8% increase on a month on month basis. In June, the average export price of steel was 872.7 US dollars / ton, 208.8 US dollars / ton higher than the average import price. From January to July, 32.88 million tons of steel products were exported, a year-on-year decrease of 17.6%.

In July 2020, China imported 112.647 million tons of iron ore, which is one of the raw material of AR500 bulletproof steel plate, setting a new monthly import record. The average import price in June was 97.08 US dollars / ton, an increase of 7 US dollars / ton compared with June. From January to July, China imported 659.555 million tons of iron ore, an increase of 11.8% year-on-year.
