AISI 321 (1.4541, UNS S32100) is an austenitic stainless steel with characteristics similar to AISI304 stainless steel, but with at least five times the titanium content. This titanium mixture can reduce or completely suppress carbide precipitation during the welding process and within the working temperature range of 800 to 1500 °F (427-816℃). It also improves the high-temperature performance of the alloy.

AISI 321 (1.4541, UNS S32100) is particularly suitable for applications involving carbide precipitation in the continuous and intermittent operating temperature range of 800-1500 °F (427-816 ℃).
