A36 material can be processed into A36 steel plate, A36 steel sheet, A36 steel coil, A36 steel strip, A36 flat bar, A36 angle steel, A36 round bar, A36 H beam etc. products. Among them, A36 steel plate is in largest demand.

The engineers specify A36 material for more structural steel fabrications than any other type of plate. Consequently, A36 steel plate is the most purchased hot rolled steel plate in the world and the least expensive of the commercial mild steels. The heat ability reates very good welding properties, and the 36 ksi yield strength makes A36 material acceptable for most applications. A36 material is considered a mild steel due to it’s relatively moderate hardness.

But the high-temperature performance of A36 material is poor, which means A36 material is a poor choice for structural applications where fire or high heat are a possibility, such as very large buildings. However, the properties of A36 material at moderate to low temperatures means it is an excellent choice for outside applications, such as structural steel in bridges or roads, where a higher-priced steel with better performance is not necessary.
