BBN Steel successfully developed special thick ABS EH36 shipbuilding and marine steel plates

Recently, the trial production of 100mm thick EH36-Z35 steel plate has been successful, which indicates that the production capacity and supply capacity of BBN extra-thick ABS EH36 shipbuilding and marine steel plates etc. products for shipbuilding and offshore engineering meet the requirements of the first group of domestic shipbuilding and offshore engineering steel plate production enterprises.

The 4300mm production line of BBN steel has completed the certification of several grades of ship plate in 2012. However, the maximum thickness of the slab is only 300mm, and the maximum thickness of the certified shipbuilding steel plate remains at 80mm. In order to improve the market competitiveness of the wide and thick ABS EH36 shipbuilding and marine steel plates etc., after more than one year's arduous efforts, the technical center of BBN steel has overcome the technological bottleneck of matching the low temperature impact toughness and strength performance of the thick and high strength steel plate's core under the condition of small compression ratio, and successfully trial-produced 100 mm thick ABS EH36 shipbuilding and marine steel plates with excellent properties. EH36-Z35 steel plate is used to meet the requirement of certification for shipbuilding and offshore engineering steel plate, and to widen the road for wide and heavy plate products of BBN steel to enter the high-end market.
