9Ni490 steel is a low-temperature pressure vessel steel with an impact of - 196℃. 9Ni490 steel belongs to subcritical low-temperature Ni series steel. 9Ni490 is a 9Ni series steel plate with a thickness of ≤50mm for manufacturing liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage tanks, liquefied natural gas (LNG) ships and other low-temperature pressure vessels.

Surface quality of 9Ni490 steel plate:
Cracks, bubbles, scabs, folds, inclusions and other defects harmful to the use are not allowed on the surface of the steel plate. There shall be no delamination on the side of the steel plate. In case of the above surface defects, cleaning is allowed. The cleaning depth shall not exceed half of the thickness tolerance of the steel plate from the actual size of the steel plate, and the minimum thickness of the steel plate shall be guaranteed. The defect cleaning place shall be smooth without edges and corners.

Influence of various alloy elements of 9Ni490 steel plate:
C carbide precipitation will cause pitting corrosion, which is generally controlled at < 0.08%; Mn austenite phase stabilizes elements and improves wear resistance and nitrogen solid capacity; Si contributes to high temperature oxidation resistance and acid corrosion resistance; Ni stabilizes elements, reduces brittleness, improves mechanical properties and enhances acid resistance.
