S275JR is a hot rolled non alloy structural steel according to the European standard EN 10025, with moderate strength and good weldability. JR represents a room temperature impact toughness of 27J, suitable for general building structures.
S275JR material is formed through hot rolling process, with a surface of black oxide scale (commonly known as black iron plate) and a yield strength of ≥275MPa. Its low carbon content (≤ 0.22%) reduces the sensitivity of welding cold cracks.
