15MnNi vessel plate chemical composition and performance analysis

15MnNi steel is a type of steel formed by reducing V, S, and P on the basis of 15MnVR and adding 0.2% to 0.5% Ni. Although strength is not too high, 15MnNi steel has good toughness.

15MnNi vessel plate features:
15MnNi medium carbon quenched and tempered steel has higher strength, toughness and hardenability than No.45 steel. After quenching and tempering, 15MnNi steel can obtain better comprehensive mechanical properties and good machinability, but 15MnNi vessel plate has poor welding performance and low cold deformation plasticity. It has tendency of temper brittleness.

15MnNi vessel plate implementation standard: GB/T3531.

15MnNi vessel plate delivery status: generally normalized or normalized and tempered.

Carbon C: 0.1-0.2%, Silicon Si: 0.15-0.37%, Manganese Mn: 1.15-1.7%, Nickel Ni: 0.5-0.9%, Chromium Cr: 0.15-0.25%, Titanium Ti: ≤0.02%, Vanadium V: ≤0.02%

Application of 15MnNi vessel plate:
15MnNi steel is mostly used in the manufacture of welded structures such as reactor pressure vessel supports, equipment gates, and personnel gates.
