DIN 17102 W St E 460 steel, so called for having a minimum yield strength of 460 MPa, is a high quality pressure vessel steel grade for use in boiler and pressure vessel fabrication. DIN 17102 W St E 460 steel is a normalised fine grain steel with good weldability characteristics.
DIN 17102 W St E 460 steel is also used in sour gas applications where the steel will be HIC Tested to gauge the materials susceptibility to hydrogen induced cracking.
