API 5L A ,API 5L B are the grades in line pipes. API 5L A and API 5L B both cover seamless and welded steel line pipe.
The seamless process is a method of hot working steel to form a tubular product without a welded seam. If necessary, the hot worked tubular product may be subsequently cold finished to produce the desired shape,dimensions,and properties.
Refer to welding processes,there are continuous welding, electric welding, submerged-arc welding,and gas metal-arc welding. Continuous welding is a process of forming a seam by heating the skelp in a furnace and mechanically pressing the formed edges together wherein successive coils of skelp have been joined together to provide a continuous flow of steel for the welding mill.
Under API 5L standard, GR.A or GR.B steel pipe,or steel tube, is widely produced and used in china. For seamless steel pipe, the OD is 114-914mm and the ID is 4-40mm. For welded pipe, ID is 3.2-44.5mm, and OD is 21.3-2540mm.
