Today Bebon organize all staff to visit our factory which mainly manufacture stainless steel. Under the guidance of the factory director, hearing the rumbling of the machine, and listening to the patient explanation of the factory director, we know more about the stainless steel. Now we’ll summary some knowledge about stainless steel, mainly introduce its there kinds:austenitic stainless, ferritic stainless steel, duplex stainless steel.
Austenitic stainless steel means having austenitic organization under the normal temperature. It contains about 18% of Gr and 8%~10% of Ni and has stable austenitic organization. This kind has good plasticity, toughness, weldability and corrosion resistance. It can be used to make acid-resistant equipment,such as transport pipe,corrosion resistant container and so on
Ferritic stainless steel refers to mainly ferritic organization under using state. It contains 11%~30% of Gr. This kind of steel generally doesn’t contain Ni, sometimes has a small amount of Mo, Ti, Nb element. It has advantage of large coefficient of thermal conductive, small expansion coefficient, good oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance. It’s often used to manufacture parts that resistant to atmospheric, steam, water and oxidation acid corrosion. Of course, ferritic stainless steel has its own fault, such as low plasticity and decreasing plasticity and corrosion resistance after welding.

Duplex stainless steel is combination of half austenitic and half ferritic at the solid solution. Under condition of low carbon, duplex stainless steel contains 18%~28% of Gr and 3%~10% of Ni, sometimes has Mo,Cu,Nb,Ti,N element. It can save material and decrease manufacture cost due to 400-500MPa of yield strength which is 2 times of ordinary stainless steel. Also it can be comparable to high alloy austenitic stainless steel which is obvious priority to ordinary austenitic stainless steel at the aspect of corrosion resistance. Duplex stainless steel has very good welded property, neither like ferritic stainless steel’s plasticity and toughness decreasing in the hot affected zone of welded for grain coarsening, nor like austenitic stainless steel’s sensitive to welded crack. Due to these advantage, duplex stainless steel can bi widely used to petroleum chemical equipment, dealing equipment of sea water and waste water, pipe for transporting oil and gas, paper-making machinery and so on.
