Rectangular hollow sections (RHS) is the pipe which made by rolled strip. First, the steel strip becomes straight seam welded pipe, and then through the rolling mill stand to a rectangular cross section.
Another similar product is known as a hollow structural steel (HSS), the product generally are produced as square cross-section.
Rectangular hollow sections has better performance, even not all of those are made of carbon steel, but it is usually cold forming, not preheat the steel (thermoforming). Cold rolled RHS size range is 50-450 mm x 25 mm -250 mm, thickness between 2-15 mm. Thermoformed RHS can be made of larger and more thicker steel. RHS can perform a series of mechanical and structural applications in the engineering and construction sector.
