Annealing is to heated the metal, so that it can revivification the required properties after rolling, forging reduction, and its function is to soften the metal, to reduce internal pressure or to improve the internal institution.
This process is mainly used for cold-rolled steel products, mainly sheet, but also including wires. However, long products (Mainly to a final size made by hot rolling) sometimes using annealing in order to meet customer's further processing needs, such as cutting, shaping, bending and forging.
In the cold rolling process, the steel iron becomes fragile and difficult to handle, especially austenitic stainless steel. Heated such material to a certain temperature, the internal particles restructuring, and maintained at this temperature, then cooled. Annealing is typically used to prevent oxidation of the steel.
