Firstly, what is an alloy? These kinds of materials include at least two or more elements, wherein at least one is metal. Relative to other components, the alloy can achieve clearer features, and steel itself is an alloy.
Add extra elements in the ordinary iron, carbon, manganese, silicon which is formed of ordinary carbon steel, in order to improve the characteristics and performance. Typical alloy steel has higher strength or higher hardness or more flexible or more corrosion resistance. Sometimes requires several extra elements, and sometimes need to refining alloy and heat treatment to achieve the required properties. We used variety of alloy steel in many applications, such as bearings, gears, shafts, drills, saws, bolts, tires, vehicle, aircraft landing gear and armor plates and so on. Alloying elements include bismuth, boron, calcium, chromium, cobalt, lead, nickel, molybdenum, selenium, silicon, sulfur, tellurium, tungsten and vanadium.
