EN10025 S275 steel is an unalloyed low carbon mild steel grade supplied as hot rolled. As a low carbon steel specifications, EN10025 S275 steel provides low strength with good machinability and is suitable for welding.
EN10025 S275 steel
EN10025 S275 steel was first introduced in 1990 by the European Committiee for Iron and Steel Standardisation, EN10025 S275 steel was first specified in the EN10025 standard and later published in the UK by the British Standards Institure (BSI) as BS EN 10025 S275 & S275JR. The new grade superceded the previous British Standard BS 4360 43A which has now been offically withdrawn. EN10025 S275 steel average minimum yield is 275 N/mm², hence the name S275.
EN10025 S275 steel meets European structural steel standard EN 10025 : 2004. EN10025 S275 steel is a common carbon structural steel with minimum yield strength of 36 ksi, it bears many similarities to ASTM A36 in both chemistry and physical properties. EN10025 S275 steel can be bolted, riveted and welded in a full range of construction and fabrication including bridges and other general structural projects.
